Summary of message
In Velocity this week, we studied Acts 1. We examined how Acts is a sequel to the Gospel of Luke. Luke reminded us of the importance and power of Jesus’ life, ministry, death, and resurrection. It is the gospel that drives forth the book of Acts as the disciples of Christ seek to fulfill the Great Commission, which we saw was reiterated in Acts 1:8. As Christ-led disciples making disciples, we are seeking to obey Christ and fulfill the Great Commission on our campus. We know the power of the gospel and how we no longer are subjected to death, but have eternal life in Christ and that our lives are transformed by the gospel of Jesus. We also examined how the priority of the disciples after Jesus ascended was to go to the Lord in prayer constantly. This early group of believers were a people of prayer and it is through prayer that they were strengthened and led by God as they sought to bring glory to God by making disciples of all nations. We too must be a people of prayer and must depend on the Lord in every single aspect of our lives.
