Summary of message
This week in Velocity, we studied Acts 4. We looked back to Acts 2 to see Pentecost, where God sent His Holy Spirit to live within His people, and we looked at Acts 4 to see some of what this means. Peter and John, after healing a lame man and preaching the Gospel to the people, are arrested and put on trial before the Sanhedrin, the same Jewish council that put Jesus on trial and put Him to death. Peter and John, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, boldly share the Gospel with their accusers. They demonstrate the power and boldness that the Holy Spirit living in us can give us to share God’s love and accomplish His Will if we trust in Him. Afterward, they returned to the believers, giving us a picture of how we should live as the body of Christ: living in prayer and providing for and supporting one another selflessly, recognizing that all we have is God’s.
